November 18-20, 2009 VORP Organizing Institute a unique seminar for individuals and communities interested in starting a VORP in their area.

December 1-3, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Peacemaking Circle Training - The Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies Restorative Justice Initiative at Fresno Pacific University invites you to participate in a free 3-day Peacemaking Circle Training on December 1-3, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., at the West Side Church of God located on 1424 W. California Avenue in the city of Fresno. Gwen Chandler-Rhivers, a restorative justice practitioner and peacemaking circles trainer, is coming as our guest from Minneapolis. This training will support our existing Community Justice Conferencing project at the new Juvenile Justice Campus. In addition, it will bring together community, religious, business, school, and juvenile justice leaders to learn from one another’s experiences and responses to engaging youth violence and systemic cycles of crime in our communities, families, and schools. From this training, we hope that prospective trainees will continue either as a Peacemaking Circle facilitator or participant in the ongoing effort of action and education in the area of youth violence and systemic cycles of crime. Attached you will find a three-page document on this kind of training.
