Jack E. Dison
Physical location: San Francisco Bay Area BackgroundJack retired from Arkansas State University in 2000, having served over 25 years in faculty and administrative positions. After moving to California he became a graduate student first at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley and later at the Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies at Fresno Pacific University. Since 2004 he has been practicing restorative justice and conflict resolution in the Bay Area. He currently works with Insight Prison Project in San Quentin facilitating intensive small groups called Victim - Offender Education Groups. He coordinates and facilitates circles of support and accountability (COSAs) with Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth (RJOY). He instructs/facilitates peer mediation work at the California Medical Facility prison in Vacaville. He facilitates and coordinates cases involving prison inmates from a variety of sources including the Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies. Jack speaks and does training on restorative justice and conflict resolution at churches, conferences, law schools, workshops, prisons, civic and professional groups, and undergraduate classes. He is also in private practice as a mediator/peacemaker. Education
